Following the success of January's inaugural report, Supermoon launches the second edition of Founder Highlights — a monthly series spotlighting the builders shaping what's next. These are early-stage founders from the Supermoon ecosystem who are actively shipping, experimenting, and growing. The February 2026 edition opens with a founder who built one of the largest DePIN node networks in the market, then made a hard pivot when the economics stopped working.
The DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) boom promised everyday people a way to earn passive income by running nodes. But token reward volatility made it impossible to deliver consistent returns or predict revenue. Domenic Carosa learned this the hard way after scaling Hivello to 50,000+ nodes running at peak across 11 integrated networks — and watching the model break under market conditions.
Now Hivello is pivoting to ROI-first infrastructure products, starting with Bitcoin cloud mining. Users can buy simple, fractional exposure to Bitcoin mining without owning hardware or managing operations — just regular payouts from mature infrastructure with clearer economics. Later in 2026, they'll expand into GPU/AI compute using a similar model. The execution risk is dramatically lower this time: TSX-listed Blockmate is locked in as their infrastructure and operations partner (and a major shareholder), and Hivello's proven distribution engine has already demonstrated it can scale to retail users.
As Domenic puts it: "Speculation comes and goes, but infrastructure cashflows are real. Our job is to make access to those cashflows simple enough for everyday people — and sustainable enough to last."
Hivello is looking for infrastructure partners (ASIC supply/hosting capacity for Bitcoin mining, GPU supply/compute partners) and strategic investors aligned with infrastructure yield products. BTC cloud mining product launch is targeted for end of Q1 2026.
